President Bush signs Elder Falls Bill into law

The US Home Safety Council has welcomed the enactment of the Safety of Seniors Act. Each year, one in three Americans aged 65 and older falls and about 30 percent of those who fall require medical treatment. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it costs more than $19 billion annually to treat the effects of falls and the Act is the result of hard work by many concerned stakeholders.
