500 Android health apps=3 million downloads?

Continuing on from our earlier article about the growth in iPhone apps, Mobihealthnews' new study The World of Health and Medical Apps estimates that the only 500 Android health related applications have been downloaded over 3 million times, based on Android Market's download ranges.  Looking at all application stores, over 70% of apps are consumer-oriented, with the bulk priced below $2.99 and the most popular priced at $0.99.  Surprisingly, most of the professional apps are priced in that range, with a group above $20.  Article.
