If you are heading to Las Vegas 23-25 March, or can get there, CTIA Wireless 2010 now has a large Wireless Health Pavilion located in North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The official list is only 25 or so, but 3G Doctor Blog lists about 40 companies and organizations (ATA and Continua) displaying in the area. CTIA is also partnering with Qualcomm Wireless Health on its health initiative, with support from the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), NIH Foundation, Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance and wi-fit. It's a testament to the sudden growth of health/wellness apps and smartphones--and the wireless business is not slow to recognize a good thing when they see it. Release. mHealth, March 23, 2:30-3:45 pm – Wireless body sensors are being integrated with mobile and short-range wireless technologies to enable a new class of health services for monitoring, diagnosing and providing long-term treatment for acute and chronic health conditions.
