We haven't yet taken note of Breakthrough, a telepsychiatry service that connects individuals with mental health professionals online. Users can see provider ratings, prices and preview videos, plus take standard diagnostic tests. They can then connect with a therapist by phone, chat or Skype video calling. The service accepts Medicare and Medicaid, since telepsychiatry is reimbursable. Reportedly the company built its platform in 11 weeks, on $50,000 in credit cards, and is now seeking funding. Better Health lumps them in with telehealth, which is inaccurate, as our readers will appreciate. Wired profile.
